Manage Favorite Generic Tests via Setup

1 In the menu bar, click Setup > Generic Test Grid.

Notes:

The Setup menu appears only if you can place orders with your current lab.

The Generic Test Grid menu item appears only if you are not accessing a non-electronic lab, and at least one of your assigned clients supports generic orders.

For Quest Diagnostics labs, if any of your assigned clients do not support generic orders, a message appears. Click OK and contact the Help Desk to fix the problem.

2 In the Client list, click the client whose favorite generic tests you want to manage.

If you can access more than one client, and your default client supports generic orders, your default client appears automatically. (You can change your default client via your user profile.)

3 In the Laboratory list, click the generic lab whose tests you want to add to your favorites.

4 Click the tab that you want to manage, and then do one or more of the following:

Add or modify the group name. In the Tab Name box, type a name for the group, and then click Change.

Add a generic test. If you know the complete order code, type it in the Code box, and then click Insert. The test is added to the group.

If you do not know the complete order code, in the Search by area, click the Code or Description option button, type a portion of the order code or test name in the adjacent box, and then click Search. All of the tests that match the information you typed appear at the bottom of the page. To add a displayed test to the group, click the order code.

Sort the tests. Click Name Sort to sort all of the generic tests alphabetically by name, or click Code Sort to sort them numerically by order code.

Note: When you click Code Sort, the numerical order codes are sorted first by length. For example, if you sort the codes 123, 1234, and 234, the order will be 123, 234, and 1234, since the three-digit codes are sorted before the four-digit codes.

Order codes that begin with a letter rather than a number are sorted alphabetically at the end of the list, after the numerical codes.

Remove a test. In the grid, select the check box next to the test that you want to remove, and then click Remove Selected.

Remove all of the tests. Click Remove All.

Delete a group and its associated tests. Click Delete Tab.

5 If a confirmation message appears when you click Remove All or Delete Tab, click OK.

To prevent this message from appearing again, select the Do not ask me next time check box before you click OK. You can re-enable these messages via your user profile.
