Add, Edit, or Delete a Generic or Client-Defined AOE Question via Setup
1 In the menu bar, do one of the following:
• To manage generic AOE questions, click Setup > Generic Req AOE.
• To manage client-defined AOE questions, click Setup > Client-Defined AOEs.
|
Notes: • The Setup menu appears only if you can place orders with your current lab. • The Generic Req AOE menu item appears only if at least one of your assigned clients at your current lab supports generic orders. • The Client-Defined AOEs menu item appears only if you are accessing a non-electronic lab that supports client‑defined tests. |
2 To change the client for which you want to add, edit, or delete an AOE question, click the appropriate one in the Client list.
You can specify your default client via your user profile.
|
Note: If you are defining generic AOE questions, your default client is used automatically only if that client supports generic orders. |
3 For generic AOE questions, in the Laboratory list, click the generic lab whose AOE questions you want to manage.
4 In the Search Order Codes box, type a complete or partial order code or test name.
To limit the search to characters that appear only in a particular position, include an asterisk (*) in the code or name. For example, to find only order codes that begin with 123 (such as 123, 1231, 1232, etc), you could type 123*. To find only order codes that end with 123 (such as 123, 1123, 2123, etc), you could type *123.
5 Click Search.
If you did not include an asterisk in the code or name, and an exact match was found, the search stops, and the test appears in the search results.
If you included an asterisk in the code or name, or if an exact match was not found, the first 100 tests that match the information you typed appear at the bottom of the page. (If more than 100 tests match your search criteria, narrow your search by adding more digits or characters, and try again.)
6 Select the check box next to each test in the search results list for which you want to define AOE questions.
A section for each selected test appears in the Define AOE Questions area, and any AOE questions currently associated with each test appear as well. If no questions have been defined for a particular test, only the Add General Information Question check box appears.
7 In the Define AOE Questions area, do one or more of the following:
• Add or remove a general information question. Select or clear the Add General Information Question check box.
• Add a specific question. Click Add Question and in the empty box, type the question that should appear on the AOE tab on the Verify Order Code Info dialog box when you order this test.
• Change an existing question. In the appropriate box, make any changes to the existing text.
• Change the order of the questions. To move a question up higher in the list, click
next to the appropriate question. To move a question lower in the list, click
.
If a question is the first or only question in the list, the up arrow is inactive. Likewise, if a question is the last or only question in the list, the down arrow is inactive.
|
Note: If a general information question is included, it always appears after all the other AOE questions. |
• Delete a specific question. Click
after the question that you want to delete.
• Delete all questions for a test. Click Remove All Questions for the appropriate test. When the confirmation message appears, click OK.
If the Add General Information Question check box was selected, it is automatically cleared.
8 Repeat steps 4–7 until you have completed all of the changes that you want to make.
9 Click Save.
The changes take effect the next time that you order the specified test.
