View or Edit Previous POC Test Results
1 In the menu bar, click Results > Point of Care - View/Edit.
Note: The Point of Care - View/Edit menu item appears only if an administrator enabled this feature for you. |
Tip: To clear the information on the page at any time, click Cancel. |
2 In the Client list, click the client whose POC test results you want to view
Your default client is selected automatically. You can change your default client via your user profile.
3 In the Search by list, click the option that you want to use to search for the results (Name for the patient’s last name, Patient Key for the patient’s SSN or patient ID, or Req Number for the requisition number).
4 In the adjacent box, type at least the first character of the patient’s last name, SSN, patient ID, or requisition number.
Note: If you specify more than the first three digits of the SSN, include the hyphens. This ensures that the appropriate matching results are displayed. |
6 Click the patient’s name in the search results.
Note: If the selected report has been archived and cannot be retrieved at this time, a message advises you of this. You can try again later. |
7 Do one or more of the following:
• Print the report:
a Click Print.
Note: If a final version of the report has been received from the lab, a message appears, and the Print button does not. You can view the preliminary results on the page, but not print them. |
b On the Print dialog box, make any appropriate changes and then click Print, or click Cancel if you want to review the report before printing it.
c Do one or more of the following:
• To browse through or print the report, use the appropriate procedure for your version of Adobe Reader.
• To return to the test results page, click Close.
•
a Click Edit.
Note: The Edit button appears only if you are allowed to edit reports. |
b Make any appropriate changes in the Demographics or Tests and Results areas, and then press Tab.
Notes: • You cannot change the client number, accession number, requisition number, or the type of test performed. • If you change the patient’s date of birth or sex, and the test results are considered abnormal based on the new information, the appropriate flag appears on the page. |
c Click Save Changes.
d On the Print dialog box, make any appropriate changes and then click Print, or click Cancel if you want to review the report before printing it.
A printable version of the report appears. If your changes did not affect the results (for example, if you changed only the patient’s telephone number), the status that appears at the top of the report is Duplicate. If your changes did affect the results (for example, if you changed the results, or if you changed the patient’s sex or date of birth so that the results are now considered abnormal), the status on the report is Amended.
e Do one or more of the following:
• To browse through or print the report, use the appropriate procedure for your version of Adobe Reader.
• To return to the page where you can view or edit results, click Back.
• Return to the search results list. Click Back.
• Return to the page where you can retrieve results. Click Cancel.
