Updating the ActiveX Controls

To perform certain tasks (such as retrieving patient demographic information via an ActiveX bridge), your computer must have certain ActiveX controls. These controls are downloaded automatically when you access this application or try to perform the task that requires the control. However, updates to these controls are not always installed automatically. You can see which versions of the controls are currently installed, see which versions are available, and download the latest versions at your convenience.

Notes:

You can update the ActiveX controls only if you are using Internet Explorer.

You never have to manually update the image scanner control. That Active X control is always updated automatically.

If you are using Windows 7, you can update the bridge control only if you have administrator rights on your computer, and only if you run Internet Explorer as an administrator. (To do this, browse to the folder where Internet Explorer is installed, right-click the executable file, click Run as, chose an administrator account, and specify the appropriate password.)
