Requesting a Custom Carrier

When you add or update patient information or place a lab order, you might need to specify the patient’s insurance carrier. The eLabs system contains information about numerous carriers, but if the one that you want to use is not included, you might be able to request that it be added. These carriers are referred to as custom carriers.

If your request is approved, an administrator adds the carrier information to the system so that it will be available for selection. This carrier might be available only for specific clients, or for all clients of the lab.

Notes:  

This feature is not available to contracted phlebotomists.

This feature is available only for labs that support it.

You can request a custom carrier only if you can place orders with your current lab.
