Viewing Insurance ID Patterns
When you place an order that will be billed to an insurance carrier and type the insurance ID, group number (if applicable), and/or date of injury (if applicable, for workers' compensation claims), that information is typically compared against the acceptable patterns provided by the lab for that carrier. For example, if the insurance ID is supposed to be three alphabetic characters followed by seven numbers, and your entry contains two alphabetic characters and eight numbers, an error message appears. You can view the acceptable patterns at any time, along with information about the referring physicians' provider IDs (if applicable).
