Generate a Cumulative Analyte Report

1 In the menu bar, click Results > Cumulative Analyte Report.

Note: The Results menu appears only if you are allowed to view patient test results. The Cumulative Analyte Report menu item appears only if you are also allowed to view cumulative reports.

2 In the Client list, click the client for which you want to generate a cumulative analyte report.

This list includes only clients that support cumulative reports. If your default client supports cumulative reports, it is selected automatically. You can change your default client via your user profile.

To select more than one client, hold down Ctrl as you click each client. You can also click the first appropriate client, hold down Shift, and then click the last client; all of the clients in between the first and last selected client are also selected.

Results from multiple clients can be included in the report only if the same analyte has been defined for each client.

Note: If a particular client does not support cumulative graphing, that client does not appear in the Client list.

3 To limit the report to a specific date range, follow these steps:

a Click either the Search by Reported Date option button (to limit the report to results that were reported during a specific date range) or the Search by Collected/Ordered Date option button (to limit the report to orders that were placed during a specific date range, or for which specimens were collected during a specific date range).

b In the Start Date and End Date boxes, type the appropriate date in each box.

For example, to limit the report to data from the first three months of the year, you would type 01/01/2019 in the Start Date box and 03/31/2019 in the End Date box.

Tip: You can use any of the following shortcuts to specify the date:

Type t for today’s date.

Type y for yesterday’s date.

Type t-# (where # is the number of days prior to today). For example, type t-7 to specify one week prior to today.

Note: You cannot use today’s date as both the starting and ending dates.

4 To view fewer than the past 10 test results, in the Go Back x Report(s) box, click the number of previous results (1–10) that you want to include in the report.

Note: The Start Date, End Date, and Go Back x Reports values interact to determine what information is included in the analyte report. For example, if you include a start date but omit an end date, and indicate that you want to go back five reports, the analyte report will include data from the first five reports after the start date.

The most limiting option is used in generating the report. For example, if a particular patient had tests performed every day for ten days, and you indicate that you want to go back ten reports but provide a start and end date for only five days, the report would include only the five test results from the specified five days.

5 Select or clear the Skip Details check box.

Alphabetic results can be up to 70 characters long, and are abbreviated or truncated in the analyte report. If you select this option, no legend explaining the abbreviated text appears at the bottom of the report. If you clear this option, the legend does appear.

6 Do either of the following:

In the SSN or PID box, type the first four characters of the patient’s SSN (with or without the hyphens) or patient ID.

In the Name Search box, type the first three letters of the patient’s last name, a comma, and the first letter of the first name.

A list displays all of the matching patients. Click the appropriate item in the list.

Note: If you click a patient whose SSN is associated with another patient record (for example, if the patient’s last name has changed), a message advises you that multiple patients have the same number. You can generate a cumulative analyte report only if the SSN is associated with only one patient record.

In addition, if you click a patient whose patient ID is not the same for all of the selected clients, the report will include results only for the clients that use the specified patient ID.

If you clicked an SSN in the Quick List, it becomes masked, and only the last four digits are visible. To see the number again, click in the SSN or PID box.

If measurements for the defined analytes have been reported for the specified patient during the specified date range, the patient’s name, date of birth, and sex appear at the bottom of the page. (If no defined analytes have been reported for that patient at that time, a message appears. Click OK and change the report criteria.)

7 Click Report.

The cumulative analyte report for the specified patient appears.

Notes:

If one or more test results have been archived and cannot be retrieved at this time, a message advises you of this. You can try again later to retrieve the data.

An administrator determines whether or not the patient’s SSN (or, if the lab is in Canada, Social Insurance Number) appears in this report.

8 Do one or more of the following:
