Print Companion Home Draw Letters

1 Click the Companion home draw icon when it displays in the Patient Search - Advanced Results dialog box after searching for a patient with an active Companion home draw standing order.

The Companion Home Draw dialog box displays instances of Companion home draw standing orders for the patient that have current or future target draw dates. The list displays the Target Date, Frequency, Tests, and Lab/Client.

2 Position your cursor over the paper icon to see the lab, client name, and client account number.

3 Select the Past Target Dates check box to include instances of Standing Orders where the target draw date occurred in the past. Instances from expired Standing Orders will not be included.

Notes:

If no client is selected prior to searching for the patient, and the facility code you logged in to is turned on for consolidating patients, all instances of home draw standing orders related to the Companion program appear for all Lab/Clients.

If a client is specified prior to searching for the patient, only home draw standing orders for that client appear.

If the facility code you logged in to is turned off for consolidating patients, home draw standing orders only appear for the client associated with the specific standing order where the Companion home draw icon was selected in the Patient Search - Advanced Results dialog box.

4 Select one, multiple, or all instances of the displayed home draw standing orders.

5 Click Print Letters.

The bar code at the top of the letter can be scanned by a phlebotomist, or the order number directly beneath it entered into the Order Entry page to load the standing order.

Note: The order number listed below the bar code is the parent requisition number for the overall standing order, rather than a specific instance. Therefore, the same Companion Home Draw letter could be scanned in and used to retrieve more than one instance of the standing order, as long as the order is available per its frequency.
