Generate an Informatics Graph
1 In the menu bar, click Results > Informatics Graph.
Note: The Results menu appears only if you are allowed to view patient test results. The Informatics Graph menu item appears only if you are also allowed to view cumulative reports. |
2 In the Client list, click the client for which you want to generate an informatics graph.
This list includes only clients that support cumulative graphing. If your default client supports cumulative graphing, it is selected automatically. You can change your default client via your user profile.
3 In the Search By list, click either Reported Date (to limit the graph to results that were reported during the specified date range) or Collected/Ordered Date (to limit the graph to orders that were placed or for which specimens were collected during that range).
4 In the Start Date and End Date boxes, type the appropriate date, or click the date on the calendar.
For example, to limit the graph to data from the first three months of the year, you would type 01/01/2019
in the Start Date box and 03/31/2019
in the End Date box.
Tip: You can use any of the following shortcuts to specify the date: • Type • Type • Type |
Note: Data from reports that have been archived cannot be included in informatics graphs. If the specified starting date is earlier than the oldest report in the system, a message advises you of the earliest possible starting date. Click OK and type that date or a later date in the Start Date box. |
5 In the Analyte Name box, type at least the first two characters of the analyte name, and then click the appropriate analyte in the list.
The right side of the page displays a scatter diagram of all results that match the specified criteria. The legend below the graph indicates the sex of the patient associated with each data point.
The bottom of the page displays the number of patients whose data are included in the graph, as well as information about each data point: the reported date and time; the analyte value; whether or not the value was abnormally high or low; the specimen ID; and the patient’s name, sex, and age. Abnormal values appear in red in a highlighted row.
Tip: To clear the graph and data at the bottom of the page, click Clear. |
7 Do one or more of the following:
• Print the page. To print the graph (including the name and code of the selected analyte and date range) as well as all of the list of individual results, click Print, make any appropriate changes on the Print dialog box, and then click Print.
• Display additional details. To view details about a particular measurement, position the pointer over the appropriate data point in the graph.
• Limit the graph to a specific sex. To display only those results associated with a specific sex—male, female, or unknown (that is, the sex was not reported)—select or clear the check box for each appropriate item in the legend below the graph.
• View the report. To view the test results report associated with a particular measurement, click the appropriate row at the bottom of the page.
Tip: To sort the data at the bottom of the page, click any of the column headings. Clicking the column heading again reverses the sort order. |
On the Print dialog box, make any appropriate changes and then click Print, or click Cancel if you simply want to view the report. The report appears in a separate window.
The procedure for browsing or printing the report varies, depending on your version of Adobe Reader.
To return to the graph, click Close, or simply close the separate window.
• Graph a different analyte. To generate a new graph with a different analyte, repeat steps 5 and 6.
