Change the Lab

1 Do either of the following:

Change the lab. In the Lab list at the top of the page, click the lab that you want to access.

Note: If you can access only one lab, the name of that lab appears in the bar at the top of the page; the Lab list does not appear.

Change the lab and optionally make the new lab your default lab:

a In the information bar, click Admin > Change Lab.

The Change Lab page displays the name of your current lab, as well as the name of your default lab (that is, the one that you access automatically each time you log in).

Note: The Change Lab menu item appears only if you can access more than one lab.

b In the New Lab list, click the lab that you want to access.

c To make the new lab your default lab, select the Make Default check box.

Note: If your computer is owned by Quest Diagnostics, the default lab must be a Quest Diagnostics lab.

d Click Change.

2 If any broadcast messages that apply to you have been sent to the new lab, read the message and then click Continue. If more than one message is available and you are viewing a message that is not the first one, you can click Back to see the previous message.

If you do not want to see a particular message each time you switch to this lab, select the Don't show me this message again check box and then click Continue. You can always view your messages after you have switched labs.

3 If a survey has been sent to individuals accessing the new lab, do one of the following:

To complete the survey, respond to as many of the questions as you want, and then click Submit.

To complete the survey the next time that you access this lab, or when you click View Survey in the What’s New area on the Home page, click Later.

To dismiss the survey and proceed to the application, click No Thanks. You will not be prompted to complete this particular survey again.

If no survey appeared, and you can access the same page that you were previously viewing at the new lab, then that page appears with the information that applies to the new lab. For example, if you were viewing the Requisition Hold List page for the Tampa lab and you changed to the Miami lab, you would see the Requisition Hold List page with data for the Miami lab.

If you cannot access the same page at the new lab, your default landing page appears. For example, if you were viewing the Order Entry page for the Tampa lab and you changed to the Miami lab, but you are not allowed to place orders for the Miami lab, your default landing page (such as the Home page) would appear instead. (You can specify your default landing page via your user profile.)

Note: If you accessed a particular page by clicking a link, button, or icon (such as a favorite link on the Home page), or if the last page that you accessed appeared in a separate window (such as the Contact Us page), then when you change the lab, your default landing page appears rather than the page that you were previously viewing. You can return to the page that you were previously viewing only if you accessed it from the information bar or menu bar, and only if it did not appear in a separate window.

If a survey appeared, then the Home page appears, no matter which page you were previously viewing or which page is your default landing page.
