Specify the Number of Labels to Print
1 In the menu bar, click Setup > Client Test Labels.
Your default client appears in the Client list automatically. (You can change your default client via your user profile.)
Note: The Setup menu does not appear |
2 To specify the number of labels to print for a different client, click the appropriate one in the Client list.
3 If you know the complete order code for the test for which you want to specify the number of labels to print, type it in the Order Code box, and then press Tab.
The Description box displays the test name associated with that order code, and the # of Test Labels box displays the number of labels that will currently be printed.
If you do not know the complete order code, follow these steps:
a In the Search by area, select or clear the Code/Description or Alias check box (or both).
If you select only the Code/Description check box, the search results will be limited to tests whose order code or name match the specified text. If you select the Alias check box, the search results will include aliases and handwritten order translations as well.
Clearing both check boxes is the same as selecting only the Code/Description check box.
Note: If the lab does not support searching by aliases, only handwritten order translations are included in the search results. |
b In the adjacent box, type a portion of the order code, test name, or alias.
c Click Search.
Any tests that match the information you typed appear at the bottom of the page. Exact matches appear first in the list.
Tip: To view details about a listed test, click in front of the test name. The list of search results is replaced with Directory of Services (DOS) information about the test, such as the preferred specimen, minimum volume, transport container and temperature, specimen stability, test methodology, and clinical significance. To add this test to the Label Configuration area, click Add. To return to the search results, click Back. |
d To add a listed test to the Label Configuration area, click the order code.
The order code appears in the Order Code box, and the test name appears in the Description box.
Note: If a test is associated with multiple order codes, the primary code appears on the page, no matter which code you type. For example, if a CBC is associated with the primary code 6399 and the alternate code 42A, and you type 42A, 6399 appears in the Order Code box instead. If you search for 42A, 6399 appears in the search results, and 42A appears in brackets in front of the test name. |
4 In the # of Test Labels box, type the number of labels that you want to print for this test.
5 Click Save.
6 When the confirmation message appears, click OK.
