Using Additional Software

In order to use all of the features provided by eLabs, you might need to install some additional software:

• To print labels using a DYMO LabelWriter label printer, you might have to install LabelWriter software. For more information, refer to your DYMO LabelWriter documentation.

• To enable support for DYMO LabelWriter label printing and patient demographics bridging in Microsoft Edge™ (Chromium) and Google Chrome™ browsers, you must have Quest Quanum Utilities (QQU) installed and the corresponding browser extension enabled. For more information, including instructions for installing QQU, see Quest Quanum Utilities (QQU).

• To access PDF files (including requisitions), you must have Adobe Reader.

• To access spreadsheets, you must have Microsoft Excel^® 2003 or newer. (Microsoft Excel Viewer is not supported.)

• To view the demo movies, you must have Adobe Flash^® Player. To download and install this application, go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/.

• To have patient test results automatically printed or downloaded, you must install a separate application called Lightning. With Lightning, these reports can be sent directly to a printer, saved as PDF files on your computer, saved as HL7 files, or any combination of these options.

Note: You can install and run Lightning only if you have administrator rights on your computer.
