Manage Home Draw and LTC Orders

1 In the menu bar, click Requisitions > Draw List.

Note: The Requisitions menu appears only if you can place orders with your current lab.

2 If you are accessing an IOP facility and you want to limit the draw list to a specific client, in the Client list, click the client whose orders you want to manage.

This list includes only LTC clients for which ordering is enabled. If you do not choose a client, the draw list will include patients of all of the clients at your current lab.

If you are accessing a PSC facility and want to limit the draw list to a particular client, type the first few characters of the client’s name or number in the Client box. A list of the first ten matching clients appears. As you continue typing, this list displays more similar matches. When you see the appropriate client, click that item.

Note: If you are accessing a PSC facility and you specify a client for which ordering is disabled, no orders will be retrieved. (Clients for which ordering is disabled do not appear in the list of matching clients.)

If you leave the Client box blank, the draw list will include orders for all of the clients at your current lab.

3 In the Date Range boxes, type the appropriate date in each box, or click the date on the calendar.

For example, to generate a draw list of patients who are scheduled to have a specimen collected today, you would type today’s date in both boxes. To generate a draw list for the entire week, you would type Monday’s date in the first box and Friday’s date in the second box.

Tip: You can use any of the following shortcuts to specify the date:

Type t for today’s date.

Type y for yesterday’s date.

Type t-# (where # is the number of days prior to today). For example, type t-7 to specify one week prior to today.

Type t+# (where # is the number of days after today). For example, type t+14 to specify the date 14 days from today.

4 If you are an IOP, go to step 6.

If you are a PSC employee, and you want to generate a draw list of home draw standing orders, select the Home Draw check box and go to the next step.

If you leave this check box cleared, the draw list will include only scheduled or standing orders for LTC clients; go to step 6.

Note: If you cannot place home draw orders, the Home Draw check box does not appear; go to step 6.

5 To limit the draw list to a specific zip code or range of zip codes, type the zip code in the first Zip Code box, and optionally type a subsequent zip code in the second box.

For example, to generate a draw list for just the zip code 45040, you would type 45040 in the first box. To generate a draw list for the zip codes 45040, 45140, and 45150, you would type 45040 in the first box and 45150 in the second box. All orders for patients in the zip codes in between the first and last code will be included.

6 Click Search.

All orders that match the specified criteria appear at the bottom of the page, sorted by the collection date and time. For LTC orders, the left column displays the patient’s station and room. For home draw orders, it displays the patient’s zip code.
