Download One or More Reports in HL7 Format

1 Retrieve patient test results (as described in Retrieve Patient Test Results).

2 Do one of the following:

To download a specific report, click for the report that you want to download.

To download all of the retrieved reports, click Download All.

Notes:  

If the client does not support HL7 downloads, these options do not appear.

If you retrieved more than 500 reports, Download All is inactive. Adjust your query to retrieve fewer reports and try again.

Reports created before August 21, 2001, cannot be downloaded in HL7 format.

3 When prompted to open or save the report, click Save.

4 Browse to the location where you want to save the file.

5 In the File name box, type a meaningful name for the file.

The file must retain the .txt file extension.

6 Click Save.

The report is saved in HL7 format that can be imported into an external PMS, POS, or EMR system.

Whether you downloaded a single report or multiple reports, all of the information is saved in a single file.

Note: Depending on how your user account is set up by an administrator, downloaded reports can use either HL7 2.3 or HL7 2.3.1 or a newer 2.x format. If your user account is set up to use HL7 2.3.1 or a newer 2.x format, you will receive additional data, and some of the data will appear in different locations within the HL7 file. If you import this data into an external system and experience any problems, contact the Help Desk (as described in Contacting the Help Desk).
