Managing LTC Orders

If you were assigned at least one long-term care (LTC) client, you can generate a draw list—that is, a list of patients who are supposed to have a specimen collected during a specific date range. These can be either scheduled orders or standing orders.

You can print the displayed draw list, as well as the pending requisitions or labels for all listed patients. (The draw list printout includes one page for each collection date, unless the number of orders for a given date requires additional pages.) You can also edit or delete a particular order, as well as release the schedule, which files the order and prints a final requisition and labels for all specified patients.

If you edit the patient demographics or insurance information for an order on the draw list that is part of a standing order, those changes apply to all future iterations of that order. (Changes to the diagnoses or tests are made only for that particular instance.) In addition, you can release only orders that are scheduled to have specimens collected today or in the past.

Note: For information about editing the diagnoses or tests for all future instances of a standing order, or for information about deleting all instances of a standing order, see Managing Standing Orders.
