Edit a Filed Order (Online Edits Not Allowed)
1 Access the requisition log, change the filter criteria if necessary, and then click Search (as described in Filter the Requisition Log).
2 Position the pointer over the Actions link for the order that you want to change, and then click Modify.
Notes: • If appears next to the Actions link, contact Client Services to request any changes. • For redirected and nationwide orders, be sure to edit the instance of the order associated with the performing lab, not the original lab. • If an Edit link appears instead of a Modify link, see, see Edit a Filed Order (Online Edits Allowed). |
3 If the change is being requested by someone other than you, type the name of the appropriate person in the Requester Name box (LastName,FirstName).
4 If no number appears in the Phone Number box, or if the displayed number is incorrect, type the telephone number of the person who requested the change.
5 To add tests, type up to three order codes in the boxes in the Add Order Codes area.
When you move to the next box, the test name appears.
If you type an alternate order code, it is automatically replaced with the primary code.
If you do not know the order code, you can search for it in the Code Search area. In the Search by area, click the option button for the item that you want to search by (Code, Description, or Alias, which includes handwritten order translations), type the appropriate text in the adjacent box, and then click Search. (The Alias option appears only if your lab supports it.) All of the tests that match the specified text appear in the search results list. (If you type an alternate order code, the primary code appears in the Code column, and the alternate code appears in brackets in front of the test name.) To add a listed test to the order, click the order code. If you click a code that cannot be added to the order (for example, if it would cause the requisition to split), that code is not added.
To view details about a listed test, click in front of the test name. The list of search results is replaced with detailed information about the test, such as the preferred specimen, minimum volume, transport container and temperature, specimen stability, test methodology, and clinical significance. To add this test to the order, click Add. To return to the search results, click Back.
6 To add diagnoses, type up to three diagnosis codes in the boxes in the Add Diagnosis Codes area.
When you move to the next box, the diagnosis name appears.
Note: If you added a test, you must either add another diagnosis or type |
7 To delete a test from the order, select the check box for the appropriate test in the Delete area.
8 In the Comments box, type any comments that you want to include with your request.
These comments will appear in the Modifications area of requisition log after you submit your request.
9 Click Submit.
10 When the confirmation message appears, click OK.
Your request is sent to Client Services, and the requisition log appears again. Since the change is not immediately sent to the lab, the status of the order remains Filed, but information about the requested changes appears in the Modifications area.
Note: Clicking Cancel on the Requisition Modification Request page does not cancel the order. It simply discards any changes that you requested. |
