PSC/IOP Tasks

eLabs includes several features that enable you to perform a variety of tasks:

View insurance ID information. You can view the acceptable patterns used for insurance IDs, group numbers or dates of injury (for workers' compensation claims), and information about the referring physician IDs (if applicable) for carriers. For more information, see Viewing Insurance ID Patterns.

Updating defective orders. In-office phlebotomist (IOP) users can easily update defective orders with information obtained from clients using the Defective Orders page to directly view, print, and edit defective orders. For more information, see Updating Defective Orders.

View the Check-In Summary report. If your facility uses the Check-In Queue for managing your patient check-in process, you also have the ability to monitor the real-time status of that process on the Check-In Summary Report page. For more information, see Viewing the Check-In Summary Report.

Verify a patient’s insurance eligibility. If a patient’s carrier has provided Quest Diagnostics with information about patient coverage, you can check this information at any time. For more information, see Verifying Insurance Eligibility.

Access the PSC intranet. From within eLabs, you can access the PSC intranet, which contains links to contacts within the organization, forms, best practices, standard operating procedures, training opportunities, and more. For more information, see Accessing the PSC Intranet.

Access Quest Diagnostics Web mail. If you have a Quest Diagnostics email address, you can access your email from within eLabs. For more information, see Accessing Quest Diagnostics Web Mail.

View or print a master list. You can view or print a master list of all patients of an LTC client who have a room number, or all patients who have a home draw standing order that has not expired within the last 90 days. For more information, see Working with the Master List.

View or print a Companion master list. You can view and print a master list of all patients with active standing orders for a specific Companion Program. For more information, see Working with the Companion Master List.

Print Companion home draw letters. You can print a Companion home draw letter for patients who have active home draw standing orders for a Companion program. For more information, see Printing Companion Home Draw Letters.

Look up pricing information. When the patient is responsible for paying for a test (either because the patient has no insurance or is enrolled in a special program such as the Uninsured Patient Program, a QuestCares Offering), you can look up the price of the test before going through the process of placing an order. For more information, see Looking Up Pricing Information.

Manage patient financial assistance. You can initiate an application for financial assistance for a patient, view an existing patient’s financial assistance status, and generate a report about financial assistance usage. For more information, see Managing Patient Financial Assistance.
