Requisition Log
The requisition log contains information about all filed orders. You can view this information at any time and perform several tasks related to filed orders:
• View the filed orders. You can filter the requisition log to display only the orders that you want to see, limiting your search to specific labs, clients, patients, dates, or other criteria. When you have retrieved the desired orders, you can collapse or expand the details for each order and search for specific text. For more information, see Viewing Filed Orders.
• Customize the requisition log. You can specify which columns of data you want to display, including or omitting such information as the lab, client number, requisition number, requisition status, bill type, and so forth. For more information, see Customizing the Requisition Log Layout.
• Sort the requisition log. You can create a custom sort order for the displayed data, including a secondary and tertiary sort. Your preferred sort order is retained the next time you return to the requisition log. For more information, see Sorting the Requisition Log.
• View the requisition log summary. You can view statistical information about the displayed orders, including a client summary, physician breakdown, and diagnosis summary. For more information, see Viewing or Printing the Requisition Log Summary.
• View the requisition log graph. You can view a pie chart and “top ten” data about the displayed orders, including the entities billed, tests ordered, diagnoses used, and active physicians. For more information, see Viewing or Printing the Requisition Log Graph.
• Export the requisition log. To enable you to further manipulate the data in the requisition log, you can export the displayed orders to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. For more information, see Exporting the Requisition Log.
• Print the requisition log. To ensure that you can refer to information about filed orders when you are not accessing this application, you can print the displayed data in the requisition log. For more information, see Printing the Requisition Log.
• Reprint a requisition or labels. You can reprint the requisition or labels for any order that appears in the requisition log, including original standing orders, filed instances of standing orders, orders that were edited or transferred to the hold list after they were filed, and canceled orders. For more information, see Viewing or Reprinting a Requisition or Labels.
• View, print, or add attachments. If a Quest Diagnostics or contracted phlebotomist added an attachment while placing an order, you can view and print that attachment.
• Edit a filed order. If you need to change a filed order—for example, to add or remove a diagnosis or test—you might be able to do so via the requisition log, depending on when the order was filed and other circumstances. For more information, see Editing a Filed Order.
• Add a preauthorization code. If a test requires preauthorization, and no preauthorization code or an incorrect code was provided when the order was filed, you can add or change that code via the requisition log. For more information, see Adding or Changing a Preauthorization Code.
• Transfer a filed order to the hold list. Under certain circumstances, you can transfer a filed order to the hold list. (This does not remove the original order from the requisition log, but does add more details to it.) For more information, see Transferring a Filed Order to the Hold List.
• Cancel a filed order. If you need to cancel a filed order, you might be able to do so via the requisition log, depending on when the order was filed and other circumstances. For more information, see Canceling a Filed Order.
